Our founder, Tarun Hari Das, invested significant time and effort in studying the differences between the RQF (Regulated Qualifications Framework) and the QCF (Qualifications and Credit Framework) systems.

While the RQF is widely recognised, Tarun chose to take the rigorous and in-depth QCF route. Why? Because QCF goes beyond ticking boxes, it ensures learners gain credits for real, measurable learning that can be transferred and built upon in the future. It’s not just about today’s recognition, but about creating pathways that will remain relevant and credible for decades to come.

One of the key reasons Transcending Matters Academy chose to go with the QCF framework is because of how the RQF system is increasingly being perceived, especially at government level.

The UK government has, in recent years, raised concerns about how RQF qualifications are used, particularly in relation to immigration. For entry-level and other lower RQF courses, policies have recently shifted to require higher RQF levels for skilled visas, reflecting doubts about whether some qualifications demonstrate the depth, rigour, and long-term value needed in today’s workforce.

This raises a broader issue of confidence. When governments, regulators, and employers question the credibility of a framework, learners who have invested significant time and effort may risk having their achievements undervalued or overlooked.

One of the most powerful reasons we chose the QCF pathway is its worldwide credibility. Unlike systems that may hold weight only within the UK or a specific region, QCF qualifications are modular, transferable, and highly regarded across international borders.

Because QCF is built on the principle of accumulating credits for genuine achievement, it provides a transparent record of a learner’s progress. This structure makes it far easier for overseas employers, academic institutions, and professional bodies to recognise and respect QCF qualifications.

In fact, QCF is often viewed as a benchmark of quality, reflecting not just that someone has “passed” a course, but that they have engaged with measurable learning outcomes at every stage. For those looking to build careers or pursue opportunities globally, this credibility is priceless.
